Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Oregon State University
Dr. Joshua Gess is an assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Oregon State University. He received his BS in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt University in 2005. Following his degree at Vanderbilt he worked for four years at Northrop Grumman before continuing his education at Auburn University. While at Auburn he received both his masters and PhD in mechanical engineering. Currently his research focuses on the advancement of thermal management solutions for near and far-term high performance electronics. Dr. Joshua Gess wanted to share his passion of thermal management at an earlier stage to undergraduates and that is why he re-opened Oregon State’s IEEE student branch in 2017 with a focus on electronic packaging urging students to participate in competitive overclocking.
